MG Brothers KIA
Padmasri Machani Somappa, the founder of MG Brothers Group of Companies, was a renowned industrialist and social worker. Apart from his business ventures, he dedicated his life to uplifting the weaving community of Yemmiganur in Kurnool District, where he was born in 1904. In 1938, he founded the Yemmiganur Weavers Co-operative Society, which became a model for many handloom co-operative societies across India. He went on to establish several other co-operative institutions and was honored with the Padma Shri award in 1954 for his outstanding contribution to society.

- Yemmiganur Leather Society
He started the automobile business in 1945 under the trade name MG Brothers, with its principal place of business at Yemmiganur, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh. In 1956, Tata Motors Ltd (then Telco) appointed MG Brothers as dealers for their HCV products in the districts of Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Nellore, and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, as well as Bellary and Raichur districts in Karnataka.
MG Brothers was also an authorized dealer for:

- TVS Suzuki – Two-Wheelers

In 2000, the erstwhile MG Brothers was renamed to MG Brothers Private Limited, with its principal office located at Anantapur. The brand MG Brothers is well recognized across Andhra Pradesh, particularly in the Rayalaseema region, as pioneers in automobile sales and service with a skilled and professional workforce.
